For the past three years, Sodimate has been proud to support the association L’École L’île aux Enfants, located in the heart of one of the most underprivileged neighborhoods in Antananarivo, Madagascar. Founded by Éric Hanrion, the current director, this school is much more than an educational institution: it is a genuine haven for development, learning, and care for children from vulnerable backgrounds.
An Educational and Humanitarian Project at the Core of Priorities
The primary goal of L’École L’île aux Enfants is to provide young people with access to education, healthcare, and essential hygiene for their future. From the first steps in kindergarten to obtaining a traditional high school diploma or pursuing a professional track, the school offers a comprehensive structure, including specialized classes to prepare students for careers as teachers or cooks.
A Partnership Rich in Exchanges and Achievements
Thanks to the involvement of the school’s students and Sodimate’s employees, a close-knit partnership has developed, fostering both human and material exchanges between the students and our team members. Sponsoring a class from first grade to today’s third grade, our employees have contributed to the students’ academic journey by providing:
- Human and cultural exchanges: Letters, photos, video calls, and gifts have helped build a strong bond between the children and our teams.
- Funding for key projects: Sodimate’s donations have addressed several critical needs, including:
- Access to healthcare, improved hygiene, and nutritious meals.
- The construction of a computer lab, equipping students with digital skills.
- Contribution to building a boarding facility, offering a safe and stable space for around 40 children.
