We are proud to share our contribution to the modernization of the Drusenheim Waste Water Treatment Plant, which serves the needs of 19,000 population equivalents. This turnkey project, carried out for our client Sogea and operated by the Alsace-Moselle Water and Sanitation Authority (SDEA), involved replacing an outdated installation with modern, high-performance equipment.
This initiative is fully aligned with SDEA’s proactive asset management approach, aimed at extending the lifespan of their facilities and ensuring treatment performance that meets today’s highest standards.
Replacement of the old hydrated lime silo and lime milk preparation system with a 50 m³ quicklime silo with delayed-effect, supplying a flash mixing system for optimal sludge/lime mixing prior to the filter press.
Key benefits:
- Improved sludge dryness
- Reduced pressing time in the filter press
- Significant reduction in potable water consumption
Installation of a modern screw-conveyor sludge handling system:
- 8-meter-long dual-shaft notched screws for optimum sludge crushing
- 14-meter-long sludge retrieval screw
- 7.5-meter motorized pivoting screw for optimal distribution of sludge in the storage area
Key benefits:
- Cleaner facility environment
- Optimized sludge storage management
Dismantling of obsolete equipment and installation of new systems:
- Engineering, dismantling of existing belt conveyors under the filter press, assembly and crane installation of the quicklime silo and metering equipment
- Full integration of the new sludge conveyor system beneath the filter press
Why this modernization matters:
Operational Efficiency:
Upgraded equipment ensures long-term, reliable performance. The transition to a delayed-effect lime treatment system leads to significant potable water savings and improves sludge stackability in the storage area.
Improved Working Environment:
A clean and functional space thanks to modern and efficient sludge handling solutions.
Renewed Trust:
We thank Sogea and SDEA for their confidence in the execution of this project.
We are proud to contribute to the continuous improvement of wastewater treatment infrastructure, serving both local residents and environmental protection.
