Deira Island, an ambitious development project in the United Arab Emirates led by Nakheel Properties, renowned for its artificial island creations, is now in its initial operation phase. This island, designed to become a tourist and commercial hub.
Sodimate at the heart of the Deira Island wastewater treatment plant: a gradual ramp-up
The Deira wastewater treatment plant collects and treats wastewater to ensure the quality of water used for irrigation on the Deira islands. The plant is capable to treat 36,000 m³/day of wastewater per day, with plans for further expansion to 60,000 m³/day.
To meet these needs, Sodimate supplied :
- A system for discharging and dosing quicklime under a big-bag emptying station,
- A sludge conveyor to transport sludge from the centrifuge to the mixer,
- An MBV 240 mixer for intimate mixing of sludge and lime, guaranteeing perfect sludge sanitization,
- A pivot-mounted conveyor for conveying treated sludge from the mixer to the storage area.
All this equipment stabilizes sewage sludge, neutralizes odors, limits pathogen proliferation and, above all, renders sludge harmless to the environment and human health.
Sodimate provides tailor-made sludge liming plants for over 40 years. This project illustrates our know-how and our track record in delivering turnkey projects – from design and manufacture to commissioning.
